Have You Seen This Girl

Have You Seen This Girl

A Poem by Eala Cartwright

Have You Seen This Girl?

She smiles so wide that it lights
Even the darkest of nights.
Her laughter comes freely and is enough
To fill the whole room.
She is ease and grace
Personified
But don't let her sweet nature
Trick you into believeing that she
Is anything less than fierce.
This girl is wildfire,
Tearing through life
With blazing intensity
And those that meet her
Cannot help getting caught in
The inferno.
She will burst into your li8fe
And it will be as
Though she never was absent.
She is the sort of girl
That inspires songs;
That has known pain
Beyond imagining
But chosen to smile anyway.

The trouble is, I think
You took her with you when you left.
