Moving On

Moving On

A Poem by Eala Cartwright

If I ever feel what I felt for you
Again, I'll know it's pure
The innocent naivety
Thinks loves the simplest cure

And I don't know how time will paint
The feelings we surrendered
When hearts were torn and love was lost
Both needing to be mended

And I know it's cruel
To hope, to wish
That I'd remain a ghost
Haunting you when you think back
To the times when we were close

Eala Cartwright
for the boy who taught me what was precious in life and love, the boy I will always feel something for, even if I am no longer in love with him
