Today

I honestly have no idea where this came from...

Today

Today I die.

From the inside out

Dying from pain,

From misery and sorrow

Pulling at the last strings of life

The strings that reside within.

Within body not soul

For my soul is gone

Dead and abolished from the face of the earth

Gone without a trace

No witness to proclaim it was there in the first place

And now as I sit,

Body dying,

Leaving everything behind

I feel a flicker of warmth

Of happiness,

And what I used to be

I find myself at peace knowing where I will be going

Beyond the clouds and sky

In the small niche where heaven resides

Today I rest in peace.

You rest in peace. Thats is a wonderful line. This poem reads well and has a good feeling. It starts with death but ebds with hope. The theme is clear and I really like this poem.
