Lines 2A Story by LittleMancunianJust the second part to "Lines"She's on her third cup of tea (but who's counting, apart from me?) and has been here over an hour now and Ms Morgan (call me Emily please) is just confusing me. Here's what I've been saying for the last half hour...
“So I have a whole load of weird/bad stuff going on in my house because of some lines?”
“Yes but no at the same time”
“Okay so explain once again again”
“Lay lines are lines of power and magic well that’s what they are traditionally, and they can be used to do what ever you want with them.”
“Okay…”
“The lines that are connect to your house are the ends of some really powerful lay lines the same ones that run through Stonehenge and carry some power from the pyramids of Giza.” That last part is new, she never mentioned that before.
“Giza as in Egypt as in mummies and gold death masks and Tutankhamun?” I have to ask just to confirm.
“Yeah but you kinda shouldn’t say the names like that in this house.” I look at her and my mind wonders, she looks young and old(ish) all at the same time, she talks likes she's young but she give of this wise like an old owl vibe.
“Okaaaaay the only thing you’ve done since you’ve come here is confuse me!”
She looks at me in silence for a moment, she bends her head slightly as though she's listening to someone or thinking hard. The she nods slightly
“Okay let me simplify it for you, when last did anyone apart from you sleep in this house? Have you ever had friends stay over like when it gets really late and people just decided to crash for the night?”
“Erm years ago, no one apart from me and the cats sleeps here now.”
“Why not? In fact don’t answer that, next time your friends are over ask then to sleep over and see what they say”
“okay then” I agree just to shut her up.
She jumps up, she didn't take her coat off so she's all ready to leave the house. She pulls out her card and places on the table. Then changing her mind she walks over to the fridge and using one of my many magnets she sticks it to the door. She slightly pulls one of my take out menus to cover it.
“when they refuse to sleep over despite the fact that you have a lot of space here you will need to call me. My card will stay here until that happens”
Then with no pomp and circumstance she leaves the house.
I frown at her back, “there nothing wrong with you house” I whisper to the space she's left behind and without thinking I pick up my phone
