Not Once

Not Once

A Poem by KLH

Not once did I stop to think
that one day I would be missing a link.

The music that once lulled my demons to sleep,
is keeping them up, feeding on me.

A voice in my head is screaming.
But I can't hear it over my heart singing.

There's no way out.
I'm to tired to shout.

Once filled with love and life,
is now replaced with loath and strife.

I can't escape.
It's become my fate.

It's to late.
I'm full of hate.

I think everyone has dealt with these emotions at some time or another. I like how the poem rhymes its way through evenly and leaves the cause open ended so we can put our own experiences into the words. Great Ink!
