Hymn to the Hearth

Hymn to the Hearth

A Poem by Tim
"

A paganistic hymn to be recited before a burning fireplace, accompanied by the offerings of dried plants and spices.

"

O all-consuming fire

As beautiful and dangerous as you are

Fragile and transient

Child of combustion, begotter of embers and vapors

Take my offerings of herbs; transform them please

Into material that is fertile

Destroy what is, make it into something that was

This is really beautiful. It sounds like a powerful and gorgeous hymn to say before a fire.
