Twisted Fairytale

Twisted fairytales you gave us all stupid hopes
Told of stories of a perfect prince
We were young and easy to convince

In time we found out everything was a lie
The bad guys that were so easily spotted now had perfect hair and beautiful eyes

Twisted fairytales that all had a happy ending
While i was left with a heart that was still mending

Caged my love left me
Bound by chains unable to flea
A heartbreaking ending was a guarantee

Twisted fairytales why did i have to believe?
Heartbreaking messages are all i will ever receive
A perfect ending i will never achieve
For i was too naive
So im left here to grieve

Twisted fairytale when will i become the Beauty
When will i have fulfilled my duty

Twisted fairytale why couldn't i have found a prince like Ariel
Instead i found myself at a burial

The bad guy turned out to be right in front of me all along
And Sleeping Beauty forgot the words to her song
Everything turned out wrong

Twisted fairytale
When will i find a guy who won't bail
A cruise to Neverland i will never sail
Aladdin was caught cheating and sent to jail
And Cinderella never got to wear her white veil

Twisted fairytale why did i have to fall
For the guy that became my all

i don't believe in fairytales either. not even when i was a kid. good thing, because everything you wrote is true. i experienced your poem. not word from word - but the main ideas. perfectly written.
