Bejeweled Darkness

Bejeweled Darkness

A Poem by Blue Belle
"

Concealing feelings

"
Ritzy, milky white
Shimmering
Beads of the ocean
Strung around my neck.

Sparkling prisms
Decorating my ears.

Rosy powdered cheeks.
Glossy, cherry red lips.
Curled my hair.

Glowing dim neurons.
Just embers, my heart.
Weary, my soul.
Black, my veins.

Bejeweled the outside
To conceal
The darkness inside.

I'll bet there's a veneer on the outside of many who are suffering inside. The skill you use to describe your inner pain is evident. Great poem.
