Forever Young

Forever Young

A Poem by Blue Belle

Playing house
or with dolls.
Swinging as high
as you can.

Feeling as if
this will be
forever.

Until
it isn’t.

Until
you are
in that
cap and grown
walking across
that stage.

Until
you are
trying to
escape
by sleeping.

Until
your eyes
are filled
with tears.

Until
long sleeves
and bracelets
are your friends.

Until
food
is the
enemy.

Until
you want
to jump
in front
of a car.

Until
forever young
becomes just
a dream.
