i like how this poem shows that you cant just make a person recover from something. for example a person cant recover from drugs unless they want to recover. and i think that somethings cant be healed because they are a part of ourselves that is forever in us and that recovering from that will change us and we might not know who we are anymore since we should instead accept things that are a part of our soul.

I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling that I wouldn't know who I am if I recover.

This is how I feel quite often now, I recentley told my favorite teacher at school that I self harm, I mean she's great, but was obligated to tell someone of higher authority. I don't like him and everytime IO see him I feel physically sick. He keeps going on about recovery, but I don't think about it that way, I think about it as one day ata time. Some days I have good days and some days I have bad days, but the next day is always a new day. This poem is great and has emotion. I love your work and can really relate, thank you for writing and please don't stop.
I think sometimes it is easier not to work on recovery.. recovery is hard, it is mental and physical, it is a desire to get better. But what if getting better changes everything? to the point of not recognizing one's life anymore? I think unless you've lived it, you can never fully understand it. Great poem.. reflective.

Recovery is difficult... yes that is true

We change everyday as new life unfolds
The flowers the trees look how they mold
Into something different every single day
Keep on walking... Be strong.... Be bold!
Kinda just went with the flow on that one lol but seriously though.... I've been in recovery for almost 3 years now. It's a journey... not everyone will understand and that's ok (They probley need to recover from something too :)) It can be frightening when peeling back the layers and we have alot to peel back! We get to discover our true selves! You are a truely talented young lady!
I love it. It's short, but deep. It perfectly puts the reader into the person's shoes, and lets them feel what the person/character is feeling. Good job!
I am thirty years old. I'm dealing with a mood disorder/depression, anxiety, an eating disorder, borderline personality disorder, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. I love writing. and most of my works.. more..
