Waiting for an Answer

Waiting for an Answer

A Poem by Amatina

As I walk along the road
Lonely and cold
I peer eagerly in the darkness
Looking for answer
That lies in the icy night
The tears begin to arrive
I wish them away
To no avail
My emotions take over
I begin to run from them
In hopes that they will fall behind me
They follow
Allowing the tears to cascade from my eyes
Enabling the return of fear
The night grows colder as I sit
Waiting for the tears to subside
Only God must know my sorrows
The overwhelming burden of pain
It swallows what is left
Of my delicate soul
The turmoil that resides
Within my heart
That never seems to go
