Maryland

Maryland

A Chapter by Little Lotus

I was in a city and exploring a large house. Something that you kind of get when you're looking at a car museum, or something, but there's nothing to look at. It's painted white and it's huge, and it has two sets of giant stairs that meet at at the tip of an upside down 'v' and then there's this long huge walkway stretching between them. There are large windows on the high walls, and they let in a lot of light. There are scarcely any people there but me, except for maybe one or two others.
I wander into a dark place, kind of like the inside of a barn or a garage, and I'm on the rafters. There's a man and he blows up this pile of brick in the corner, and it reveals a pathway that goes to Maryland. There's a lightswitch but it's buried, we won't have use to it. He hides in the "1950 way" because the explosion revealed that there's a spinning brick door to conceal it. It's not perfect, you can still to see it because it's a little sunken in.
There's a girl with short dark hair and she's sort of leading us now. I go home to get ready, and I live in a city. It turns into an X-men dream. I don't know what power I have. I think it's like some weird cross between shapeshifting and being a ninja. I jump really far and well. I have a note or something, and half-way through I meet a girl from a rivaled gang. I call her Storm but halfway through I realize she's Rogue and I correct myself. She grabs me as I jump but I'm wearing a cloak or maybe she is and it doesn't affect me. I turn into a raven or some such to escape. The night is reddish, and I fly through the sky but it's hard. I'm not good at it. It's like one of the moments in my lucid dreams where I'm having trouble controlling it.
I see Storm and Cyclops and I try to call out to them but I'm in raven form and they can't hear me. I land and they're a little too far ahead, in front of a building with some trees in the lawn and two greenhouses. This is where my group usually meets. I run and let them know that I'm here, that I'm being chased.
I don't really want to go to Maryland. I don't think it's worth it. I wonder why I wanted to go in the first place.
I fight a guy who controls a monkey in a yellow clown suit. The monkey sends out two pink bubbles, and they spin. I know not to touch the bubbles, and I jump on the greenhouse and dodge appropriately. I ask him if that's really his power and he says yes. Two men on his side, looking like G's, one wearing green sneakers, stomp quietly on the bubbles. They don't affect them.
The battle ins for some reason and everything's fine. Our team walks away and we turn around to wave goodbye to them. They're nice and we're nice. I'm walking with a few people now, the girls that wanted to run away to Maryland. We're walking in this filthy Asian city, and I think it's the Philippines but it's not. People live in little rooms in the walls, without doors, using sheets and shower curtains to give themselves privacy. They're lying down for the night and sometimes you see a hand poke out, or a face between the curtains. Old Asian men, watching television.
I step onto a conveyor belt and I'm in a department store in the Philippines. I'm with David. There's a lot of things, and we pass by a hygenic part. I grab a shampoo and start reading it, looking for things to get as a souvenir for Niko. None of it really does the trick, it's things like shampoo and q-tips. David complains that we shouldn't have gotten on the conveyor belt, it's taking us the wrong way. I need to use the bathroom and move onto my tiptoes to look for it.
I awake and i really do need to pee.
