Unvoiced Clemency

Unvoiced Clemency

A Poem by Little Birdie
"

The way I perceive you as you keep your step through my room slowly.

"

Perhaps I misjudge you.

The way I perceive you

as you keep your step

through my room slowly.

The dim light outlines you

and for a moment

I feel more grateful for your existence

than I should.

And all I yearn for is your hug

but I haven't possibly the strength

to extend my arms towards you

and show my weakness.

I can only assume your

eyes are weary from the lack of sleep

but determined as you fix them upon me.

You smell of fresh, fallen rain.

At least you have the decency

to give me the well-deserved hug as if

sensing my emptiness and lay down

to shield me from reality.

The tenderness and vulnerability in this is exquisite, I like it very much.

Beautiful write. Love the line, "...to extend my arms to you and show my weakness." Powerful words. Great piece

I like your style, I'm a lot more figurative language wise, but I like your matter of fact tone and I like that you don't use redundant rhyme schemes lol, I'll have to check some more of your posts out.

Powerful write and sincere. I can feel the emotion pull through,
Nicely written and so well expressed.
