In Search of Something More

In Search of Something More

A Poem by Little Abbey
"

About a guy I've know for the better part of my life who I kind of foolishly forgot about, and is now the best person I know. :)

"
There are times when we search,
In search of something more.
And, we think we've found it,
And that we'll search no more.

But later on we feel it's all wrong,
And nothing seems to be right.
We discover we never found it,
And our search continues on.

As I moved from one place to the next,
I rediscovered something old,
An opportunity I should accept.
I began to make new what was once quite old.

I woke up in a whole new light,
That shone yellow instead of a harsh white.
An old face that had blurred into the background,
Smiled with the new day, when I walked into sight.

A face I had once forgotten about,
Is now newly the center of my world.
And though he has no knowledge of it,
He is now my Something More.

Glad the thing turned out well for you! It just shows how good things come to us over time.

I read this in a personal way. I suppose I've been in search of that something more that you speak of. But in my case it was writing. I got there. I got an ebook together aftera about 10 years of work and worry. But it has sold just 22 copies and I am have no idea how to go on, or if to go on with it. These three lines capture how I feel perfectly:
But later on we feel it's all wrong,

And nothing seems to be right.

We discover we never found it,
