Heart Exchange

Heart Exchange

A Poem by Samantha Guerin

Heart Exchange

Give it back!

It no longer belongs to you.

I gave it to you freely once,

When I was foolish.

But then you left me,

Without a word.

And now!

Now you come back,

Wanting to pick up where we left off.

Perfect timing.

You stole mine,

Now I’ll break yours.

Hear me say no,

Watch me walk away,

While you stand,

Empty handed.

Your heart,

Broken to pieces,

Spilling onto the pavement,

While mine cries.

I really like it. Its sweet but yet honest, lovely mixture. Keep up the good work.
