DriftingA Poem by Lissa Lynn
January hands sliding under and over
Drifting like snow Eyes locked, brave in the way of children Dealing in whispered admissions and hushed ecstasy Like we were infinite Vulnerable and sincere, We hadn't learned yet to be otherwise To dull ourselves with bottled fire So memories blur and blacken But I remember the taste of you on my tongue Can feel you filling my mouth with nutmeg and golden leaves Weaving your fingers into me Convincing me that I was limitless and we were everything But we were in love Maybe I should choke on the word Sacharrine and false as you were But I saw you nakedly and honestly And dissolved you into me anyway © 2017 Lissa Lynn |
