A Simple Old Saying

A Simple Old Saying

A Poem by LisetteCanWrite!
"

Simple message - Believe absolutely none of what you hear and only half of what you see!!!

"

Somewhere in my writings;

you'll find bits of mine and others forlorn past.

These are only the dealt with parts

and many free from me at last.

I've written sagas for an unknown many;

people who have passed and some are gone.

It's through my gift of writing;

I will try to tell their stories and their songs.

  My writings are only my version;

 how I interpret things to mean.

Others could always contest them;

as it may not be as I have seen.

We all take our own sides;

of a double-headed coin - stupidity in youth.

Seeing and believing only the worst side of things;

that are not even close to the real truth.

 Sometimes my writing's just a message;

like this one here on this very day.

It's just common-sense but wise;

something my grandmother had to say.

Her old saying comes to my mind;

If you believe - it will surely set you free.

Believe absolutely none of what you hear

and only half of what you see!!!

 For you can't  know any one person;

from what you hear or in a page inside a book.

To honestly know their truths;

take time to know someone taking a much closer look.

Spectacular... they are three sides to a story... mine, yours and the truth... so many times we see only half truths instead of trying to communicate with the party in question... another good point that to look judge someone by the way they look is such a big mistake... I enjoy conversing with others and learning where they come from, give you a better sense of who they are and why they are the way they are.

Words of wisdom. Well written. Communication is difficult at best. Interpersonal relationships are even more difficult. When we come onto an internet site and we read the writings of others, some would say that anyone only writes what is within them. There is one question that is always asked too few times. "What did you mean by that?" A writer can write things for many different reasons. Like a painter paints. We see something, we feel something, we are challenged by something...or a gazillion other reasons. It's important to withhold judgement of anyone or anything until you have all the facts...and seeing as all the facts are never known, judgement should never come. Exchanges, and learning, and exploring and...I could go on and on...all of these things are useful tools in relationships. Judgement of another, no matter from whence it comes, should never be exercised.
