My Dad

My Dad

A Poem by LisetteCanWrite!
"

This ia a tribute to my Dad.. he was my inspiration in life to be a good person.. he was not rich but would give you the shirt off his own back just to see you smile!

"

When I look into the mirror;

do you know what I can see?

I see a partial reflection of my father;

he's smiling back at me!

He brought smiles and laughs;

Yes, corny jokes too!

He had a way of lifting people up;

when he sensed them feeling blue.

A true humanitarian;

with the purest and kindest soul.

He's gone to be with my grandparents;

as a close-knit unit they're now whole.

I know in my heart that he's happy there;

because he's now with his Mom and Dad.

I'll cherish our greatest of memories;

because they're the best I've ever had.

He brought wisdom and knowledge;

throughout so many trying years.

If he's watching from heaven right now;

I hope this poem he hears.

He liked to fish, bowl, fix things,

and play games like checkers and chess.

He enjoyed testing people's skills

and was better than me I must confess.

Oh, this man could pick up any object;

finding value to the highest degree.

You see that was his "gift" and

you had to have that "gift" to see!

He surely was my father and

to me he "was" the best.

Now he's found his way to heaven;

where his "kind soul" can rest.

Lisette, my heart goes out to you. This is a wonderful tribute to your father, I am sure he is looking down and smiling at you. And that he is very proud of his daugter. I wrote a pice for my mom when she passed away from Cancer called (The Perfect Mom, She reminded me of your dad. This is a keeper and goes into my favorites. Thanks for sharing.

"He had a way of lifting people up;
when he sensed them feeling blue." a rare & oh so precious gift. such a hard quality to find in people anymore, those who have this special gift sparkle like gold. this is a goreous, moving tribute to your father, it literally brought tears to my eyes.

I lost my dad with a heart attack when I was ten and my grandma with cancer I never knew them really, I know the pain inside. I lost my step father a few years back. Your write makes me think of my dad. I like the emotion you brought out in this. I can sense the feeling. My heart goes out to you as well.
