My Dreams

My Dreams

A Poem by LisetteCanWrite!
"

Written as a single mom 15 years ago - I am a forever dreamer and all through my life I was told to stop dreaming and pay attention.. well I am still doing it at 37!!!

"

I have never forgotten
and never will yet.
My dreams for the future
and the goals I have set.

A forever poet and dreamer
and I like life this way.
Unfortunately these days,
being an artist doesn't pay!

A waitress, a cleaner,
a cook and a mom.
Once my bills are all paid,
the money's all gone.

Things are already changing and
I'm hoping for the best.
I'll start my own business and
get better dressed.

Buy a house and a car,
a boat, cottage and bike.
I'll have enough money
to buy whatever I like!

Then I'll find a life-partner,
to share all my dreams.
I'll have something more to offer
and we'll work as a team.

This reminds me of an exchange from one of my all-time favorite movie (Shawshank) between Andy and Red.

Andy: (Never) forget that... there are places in this world that aren't made out of stone. That there's something inside... that they can't get to, that they can't touch. That's yours.

Red: What're you talking about?

Andy: Hope.

I love this poem for it's hope. It appears to be one of your older works so reviewing it serves a second purpose. To remind you that ... as Andy wrote in his note to Red ...

"Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."

Hey this is a great one. But please don't be so negative as soon as you think that you will have enough money you will have them :) Peace

P.S. It's really nice to see that it is emotional and made on the exact moment of what you felt very nice

Lisette, I love your honest, vivid thoughts expressed so directly... Beautifully conveys your heart and mind... And all things created (buildings, gardens, families...) were once merely dreams...

Lisette, There is nothing wrong with dreams. Dreams are what cause the reality of wealth in our dreams worthwhile i think....(Does that make since what i just said) I'm a dreamer, when I write, I write from the heart and the moment of expression is where my best writings come from as most of it is based on the reality of dreams of what I'm hoping for and what I'm missing in life.

As far as being alone....Just be patient and let love find you. I've been told that it better to have been loved than not loved at all. We all learn from the past crossroads we walked through and all we can do is look in the rear view mirror and look upon the good memories and let go of the past, moving on with the goals we set upon and in our hearts.

You are doing fine....Just continue being yourself and keep writing.

Again, a superb! written piece of writing.
