Recovery

Recovery

A Poem by Color of the Iris

Recovering,

I’ve never felt so alive.

Recovering,

But I’m still dying inside.

My love, is this life all so precious?

Hearing the news of your infections

Leaves me empty and broken inside

Instead of your life, won’t he take mine?

 (Chorus)

Recovering,

I’ve never felt so alive.

Recovering,

But I’m still dying inside

Wondering,

I walk this road… alone

It seems now that dying is inevitable

And loving is hopeless, but I know

That it’s nowhere near over

But the end has never been closer

 (Chorus)

Won’t you walk with me?

 (Chorus 2xs)
