The SunlightA Poem by Color of the Iris
Many find their world to be without Sunlight
Their life a freezing, lifeless, inhabitable void That consumes the sanity you once contained And leaves you gasping for a breath at the end The Sunlight that they long for represents happiness A harmonious joy that sings throughout their heart A loving body that leaves its mark upon their soul Leaving you breathless and ravenous for more of it But it is the difficult lesson we have all come to learn Sunlight is not an element we can always depend on Lending your trust within the Sunlight is useless It’s like expecting a painkiller to relieve you completely Useless… completely useless, worthless, nothing The Sunlight will not always be there for you And most times it’s not there when needed most Like a question in the darkness waiting to be answered And if the answer is thought reasonable enough The Sunlight will grant you with a response Just remember, the answer may not be one you wish for For it is always somewhere beyond the clouds Watching… waiting for that soulless question © 2011 Color of the IrisAuthor's Note
