Searching For You

Searching For You

A Poem by Color of the Iris

Holding on so relentlessly

To what I guess I used to be

So afraid of the change

The change that took you away

It’s not fair that I have to run

Run away from the falling sun

And hide myself away

I must hide myself from this dying day

(Chorus)

Now, I see it’s not so hard

Now that I see you’re not so far

It’s not a journey I will want to take

But only for you, I will not hesitate

You have been my friend

From the first and until the end

You need me so now I will search for you

Completely hidden underneath

All of your blinding, red sheets

Of a painful rage and a lusting hate

My dear, it’s falling out of date

This change, the turn of you

Has shown me a face of two

A demonic symbol upon your face

A monster that has taken your place

(Chorus)

I will make you whole again

Clean you up and make you better

I will help you seek help and

I will make you feel like you matter again

(Chorus)

Can you feel your heart beating once more?

Calling somewhere on the other side of the floor

Can you see me now as I hold your hand?

You have to hear my words and understand

Beautiful. I liked the colour similarity, red sheets, rage, hate.. The way your poems always flow, it's nice, and with so much ease, each word going onto the next line. Nice read!
