The Wolf

The Wolf

A Poem by Color of the Iris

Mary had a lamb
But the wolf chased it away
So now she sleeps
While the wolf has decided to stay

In her dreams, Mary runs and runs
Nightmares and a deadly prince
In the eyes of a wolf, a game of fun
With steps he refuses to mince

He, her huntress and she, his prey
A hunger grows within him as the night is to progress
He attacks her, but does not harm her
He holds her to the ground and whispers "just say yes"

Staring in his eyes, she sees her reflectionAnd she feels his heart beckon hersNo longer herself, but also apart of himShe opens her eyes and he is gone, but he's always been there inside her.

Color of the Iris
This was a collaboration between Melody and I. Though this poem was difficult to write and perfect, we tried and as I thought, it came out beautifully. I thank you Melody for help on this, it's wonderful. Readers enjoy!

Anytime. :) And this is a beautiful poem, that's the thing about poetry. It's one of the few things in this world that I carry respect and pride for. :)
It was fun working with you and I'm glad I didn't say no to work with you on this masterpiece that our fingers have brought together.
