My journeyA Poem by LisawalpoleA poem about my weight loss journey
When I was obese I would eat
Lots of white foods and processed meat. I felt sluggish and ashamed And only I could be blamed. My friend sat me down and said ‘Lisa, if you carry on, you’ll be dead!’ So, with her support I began my mission Of changing my lifestyle with her tuition. In my head I thought it would be easy How wrong I was, it made me wheezy! Twenty one stone was my starting weight How on earth was I going to deflate? Healthy eating is surprisingly tricky Salad leaves, meat and nothing sticky. It started by filling me with despair Now I think it’s delicious " I swear. My biggest challenge was exercise Blood, sweat and tears was my prize On holiday in Florida, I got a trainer Here I learnt I was a complainer! She taught me that exercise was fun And results were beginning to be won. Cardio, walking and lots of weights Is how I started exercising in the United States. Back at home in the United Kingdom Personal trainers became my system To help me on my weight loss journey I had two ladies, and then I found Lee. L K Fitness is his business With losing weight, he is fearless. He has motivated me to get fit Even with my injured hip! Now at twelve stone, I’m near my goal One thing I’ve learnt is, there’s no loophole! A good friend and lots of assistance Is my recipe, along with persistence! © 2016 Lisawalpole |
