The Breaking Facade

The Breaking Facade

A Poem by imfucking-in-an-elevator
"

she's been so strong; but how long can it really last?

"

She's laughing on the outside, dancing in the rain,

but underneath that brave facade she's dying from the pain.

Ask what's wrong she'll shrug you off.

Just like the rest you'll get a scoff.

She blows you off and continues her deceit.

You're the only one who notices her feat.

She fakes her smile everyday

and hopes someone wont see her stray.

The only way to help is to sit and watch

so you do just that with a glass of scotch.

You're there for support, even unwanted-

she thinks you're there to make her taunted.

You try and convince her she's wrong

and that your intentions were strong.

She keeps faking that smile everyday

and hoping someone wont see her stray.

She breaks and falls one day,

so unexpected to those at bay.

You know exactly what happened,

and the very thought makes you saddened.

Her facade falls to the ground,

all her thoughts being drowned.

She faked that smile everyday,

but now everyone's seen her stray.
