Sitting the Storm

Sitting the Storm

A Poem by lisaluree
"

This poem was written for my husband and his dog who spent quite a few thunderstorms together sitting in the rain.

"

Sitting the Storm

Lightning peaceful,

Swells sky’s theatre,

dancing strings of grace and form.

Now upon us bears the thunder ,

buttered bass and tenor warm.

Wake the wind and wake the arbor!

Earth’s great poets lending verse.

Scented bounty, floral harbor,

Moisture opens nature’s purse

Pebbles frolic, leaping gladly,

through the blades of glistening grass.

Hopping madly, in a panic

Melting now to seeds of glass

Gentle rain softly falling,

dip and dop and tep tep tep.

Leaves of glory clap in ardor,

bravos herald heaven’s pep

Come now sparrow picking freely

leavings of the passing fray.

Spring’s potential, buds bright tender,

yours the drippings " quick foray!
