BewareA Poem by Liriel LunaBeware the fury of a mother. Her rage is a force to behold. You will find that it matters not If you are bigger, stronger or whatever; Beware the fury of a mother. The Wolf will take on a Bear The Bear will square off against poachers The Lion dares not anger the Elephant You should not have dared The fury of this mother. Beware. Beware the fury of a mother, Especially the mother whose fiery rage Has deadened down to an icy fury That summons forth the hounds of hell That summons forth the gods themselves. Beware the fury of a mother. The Morrighan, Kali-Ma, Hecate All the goddesses of fury hear our cry for Vengeance and justice. You think you’re safe. Beware the fury of a mother. I delight in knowing what you do not I see the noose tightening around your neck Even while you think you can still breathe. My patience has my fangs dripping and ready For you to realize, too late, that you should Always beware the fury of a mother. You will wish that you had never Brought it to life, brought out the beast, The Wolf in me. My fangs are ready And you will wish for them in your throat Rather than to face the justice coming. The gods drew you back into this place, Brought you where your Karma awaits Soon you’ll behold my cold, smiling face As you learn this universal truth: Beware the fury of a mother.
