The Spirit of a Wolf

The Spirit of a Wolf

A Poem by Faye
"

A once-proud species dwindles...and though their souls may travel and find new homes...their lands...and their beautiful vessels...may one day be gone for good...

"

The spirit of a wolf
Is ageless
Remembering through blood
Lands never seen.

Hopelessly trapped
In now foreign lands
Where once its paws
Ruled the earth
And its song, the sky.

The spirit of a wolf
Is fierce and free
Loyal, even as its existence
Dwindles to near nothing.

Its mortal shell may die
But the spirit of the wolf
Lives on.
