My Bubble

My Bubble

A Poem by Liquatic
"

Sometimes we shield ourselves because the rest of the world is infected.

"
My bubble surrounds me
It provides me protection
It helps me avoid getting hurt
And it blocks the infection

Inside it I'm secluded
Shut off from the Earth
While death is all around me
In me I sense only birth

A life born anew
My lungs breathe fresh
While the infection outside
Tears away at your flesh

Your lost without hope
Simply waiting to be found
You could avoid it all like me
If you had a bubble around

But now I see the bubble slowly tearing away
I sense the pain and quickly feel myself begin to decay
I take a look in the mirror at the zombie portrayed
But I take a step outside, and it seems today
That everything is okay,
much to my dismay
I've been led astray,
my thoughts a cliche'

So I take it all in and begin to survey.
My thoughts were all a lie, and I think I wanna stay.
