Lord Money

Lord Money

A Poem by Beth Lindsay
"

A sonnet about society that I wrote for school.

"
Here ye! Here ye! the lord is to appear
His green highness and Golden first lady
They are out gods; that's ever so clear
Their place in the world will never be shady

Our lord, the meanest greenest of them all
spreads the greed and madness to all men's hearts
As his children grows in his crowded halls
And his noble knights, referred to as marts

Oh! and his lady, the golden temptress
His bride only wedded here recently
She is the reason for all of mans messes
luring us cleverly and secretly

Here ye! Here ye! the lord is to appear
Because man is greedy, the end is near.
