They Are

They Are

A Poem by Beth Lindsay
"

There is us who struggle and those who take advantage.

"

They step on us and force us to stay

Till we're of no use then throw us away

They pay off the so called heroes

So our chances of surviving is zero

They pretend to care for the poor and hungry

But their only objective is money

They care not if you beg at their feet

It will the bottom of their boot you will meet

They smile like a Venus fly trap

Lure us all in then snap!

They are con artists with a pass

Allowed to steal by the mass

They are as greedy as man can be

Feeding on others tears of envy

They show authority through their

Destroying lives that cross their path

They are liars, they are thieves

With as much use as a infestation of fleas

Though we continue to let them reign

Which is why we should be considered insane
