Flames to Heaven all a Dream

Flames to Heaven all a Dream

A Poem by Beth Lindsay
"

Being completely engulfed by fire, real or just a dream

"

I watched in fear as the flames rolled in

Rocks of flames crash into the ground

Is this the price for some kind of sin?

Is it just happened here or all around?

I try to run from the storm

The flames beat me everywhere

The cool air turned extremely warm

The world heated by the flair

I watched in horror as people began to burn

Screaming and cry for their lives

It was only a matter of time before it was my turn

Which is less painful, flames or knives?

I cried out in fear as the flames engulfed me

what I said was extremely surprising

“Oh please God, save me!”

I opened my eyes witness the flames vanish

and the sun rising

Is this heaven? or is this a dream?

Everything didn't appear to be what it seemed.

Neater and cleaning and purer in every way

But the buildings and the houses all the same.
