Prepare for Love, Endure the HateA Poem by LindsayPrepare for Love,
Endure the Hate When I meet you, you will know, I’ll watch you sleep, I’ll kiss you slow. I’ll follow you where you will go, Heart held high and head in tow. We’ll swim together, push your swing. I’ll give you most, Of everything. There we'll be just you and I, A thousand words to serve one lie. Until then, I'll decline to talk, Head bent low, in forceful walk. Nudge me on the subway car, Tear me down in streets, in bars. No feelings, right? We all have plans. Plenty of enemies, Not many fans. Opened but slowly, gradually smile. Leaving old webs of heartache denial. But lo a long deserted street, Footprints from, Your hurried feet. Standing there, my bags were packed, Not thinking to question believable fact. Prepared was I? No, I’d say. So small a touch, Of sun’s sweet rays. Warmth on only tear-stained cheeks, Slipping back to shy and meek. But close my eyes as your light pales, Grasping with, Such fervent nails Exist in my mind bright, ornate Prepare for love, Endure the hate. © 2013 LindsayFeatured Review
