Forward Along

Forward Along

A Poem by Lindsay
"

Written when I was half asleep. Only just discovered it now.

"

Orange is the way I see the world.

Shades of gold and pink and red,

Warmth radiates from your skin.

Touches me, enveloping my bones.

The pain is duller,

Senses sharp.

Blades of tiny, meaningless grass,

Pierce through eyes now opened wide.

The soul peaks forth,

To bare it’s weight.

No longer hiding, protected.

Displayed, come viewers!

See the amazing transformation.

From caged monstrosity,

To leader of rings.

Sparkling in dewy freshness,

Electricity coursing through new pathways.

Breathe the calm anxiety in,

Smile through terror, wanted and not.

Get down to the heart, now.

On your path.

Foreign steps down nature’s familiar.

Forward along.
