A Letter from IsolationA Poem by Lindsay ElizabethSometimes I take my introverted-ness to the extreme.
She likes to sleep in half-way seclusion,
where the light creeps in through the cracks of the door just enough to leave some connection between the world and her dreams. A sense of safety, so to speak. I like to cut the cord completely. Seam the door to the wall and shut out all sound and light and life so that my dreams lay undisturbed by the world's way-side fallen attempts at peace and love and all things good-- away from the cares of today and the worries of tomorrow and the ‘what ifs?' and the 'why nots?' and all those stubborn questions that will always remain unanswered no matter how hard we try to stretch our minds past ignorance, past our tunnel vision determination and into the realm of enlightenment. My mind lives independently from that world. Instead, I choose to dream in freedom for the night.
