Of a different kind

Of a different kind

A Poem by Avoiry

We are of the same page

Flipped and fingered carelessly

We are of the same brand

Poor but well woven on the seams

We are of the same league

Just in all our frivolous crimes

We are of the same place

Past the bridge and three blocks down

We are of the same love

Still is but not quite moving

We are of the same mind

Following what does us best

but in the end it seems

despite the working of our hands

and despite the scuff marks on our jeans

all we can dream

Is of a different kind...

love how simple yet beautiful the theme is. the grass is greener on the other side, but if we are all so similar then maybe it's the same color on our side. powerful!

Worked to the bone, dreaming of greener pastures. Something to which we can all at some point relate, I believe. Some excellent phrases here, especially the opening. "Flipped and fingered carelessly" is wonderful imagery. Excellent! :)
