breath light

breath light

A Poem by Avoiry

The soldiers danced on to rifle seranades

fireworks of shrapnel falling from the sky.

But they were wise

With palms of fire and nails of steel

Timid conquistadoors falling to their feet

but what more is future

then the flicking of a thumb

through an old forgotten leaf of wood

Where Rebel hands once fell so heavy

In sighs of murderous anticipation

Of their un hindered demise

A worry of the wise

Breath light
