Believer

Believer

A Poem by Avoiry

Believer

Spin your fortune

As fortunate fall fast

Far from pennies

And the wells they bedded

Grant these wishes

Overbearing and barren

From hands

To the sands of birth

Take it

Leave the mourning

For something of meaning

Without the war of wording

And the splurging indecency

Of confinement

Waiting behind the gates

Of the few and the proud

The never and the dying

The today

That leads to nowhere
