A Fire Within UsA Poem by Linda MoonI dance in whimsical motion Wild flames in the Mauka winds. Crackling sparks; painted bodies Of white, yellow and red aura. Soft soil below my feet Gently caresses my path to the heavens I am awakened, alive and seeking By the encounter of another being. A circumference of twilight sparkles Mesmerized and calling me closer. A the fire that burns within us Holding, rekindling my inner spirit. Red to orange to
black, then back again Ash and smoke flow into the ebony sky, Submerged, as each tip of flame Breaks off to ignite another. Cinders whisper gently, my pace intensely slower Flickering soft ambers begin to plead To the constraints of existence. Beckoning, allowing a healing within To sustain in everlasting light. Free us from our ashes and smoke Ignite our hearts with flames of passion and desire Keep the fire within us burning For one day we will know our way home. © 2014 Linda MoonReviews
