Sittin' Home on the Couch

Sittin' Home on the Couch

A Poem by LindaLou
"

A humorous point on being couch-bound after a knee injury.

"

I have a bad knee

I’m sure you know

It’s not my whole leg

Or just my toe.

It’s on the right

This joint that hurts

It’s stays pretty swollen

So I don’t wear skirts.

I like to dance

This knee makes me slow

But slow dance is nice

So here I go.

Now the other morn

I was rising for the day

Swung my legs off the bed

And POP, did my other knee say.

POP like a breaking pencil

It hurt like crazy too

Swollen like a balloon

In just a minute or two.

Torn ligament they say

Go home to the couch

Sitting here now

Its made me a grouch.

Two bad knees

Is no fun

Lots of pain

That I want to shun.

Doc gave me meds

To ease the pain

But sitting in the house

Is drivin me insane.

Been sittin on this couch

Since my knee said POP

One bad knee made me slow

Two made me stop.

Now I’ve got cabin fever

Tired of sittin home

And that is what inspired

This silly poem.

SIttin on this couch

Day after day

I’m missing work

What does that say?

But still I must sit

Do what the doctor told

She doesn’t understand

I’m just getting old.
