Ghosts of the Past

Ghosts of the Past

A Poem by Linair

 In dreaming our journey

 The past is relived

 Our love on a gurney

 The sins we fulfilled

 Any hearts we have bled

Or the hurt that we’ve caused

 Any pains that we’ve fed

 Without any cause

 The grudges we left

While we all sat and laughed

 The ghosts that we made

 And left to the past

 Our sin is our suffering

 Our sin is their strife

 We’ll pay for both rings

With the price of our life

 The stages are set

 For the penance we pay

 We all hedge our bets

 Our final act is today

 We join the line

 And for all who ask

 We’re lost in time

Like the ghosts of our past

Wow great poem! The rhythem is great and flows naturally. The message of the poem is strong and gives the reader a sense of hidden fear. I loved it!

About
I'm a dragon lover and an avid E.A. Poe fan. I guess I've always had a knack for enjoying the darker poetry but I still enjoy reading the lighter stuff. My favorite book series happens to be the Dresd.. more..
