Crippled Hope

Crippled Hope

A Poem by Lindsay Ann

For years she longed, for the love she always wanted.
For the man that seemed to be the perfect lover.
Who will cherish and love her, for everything she is.
Years passed as she sat alone, picking apart the possibilities.
As she grew older, she searched, looking from man to man.

Until she thought she had found him.
Her angel, the other half of her soul.
Months passed he seemed to get better.
As the days passed, her grew to what she thought as perfection.
She allowed herself to fall, only to be caught by false arms.

What she thought was her angel, was only but a demon in disguise.
Her walls came crashing, the world began to shake.
Now falling through his arms, so was brought to her knees.
She never thought she would allow such a disgraceful thing to happen.

Deceit.
Lies.
Hate.
Despair.

Save the plastic for the toys.
