A Story by Lindsay Ann

The male sat quietly like a small child in the middle of the field, his hands folded in his lap as he stared off into the fog that surrounded him. His eyes seemed to be locked on a stone that was placed about a foot in front of him, a head stone to be exact. The name on the stone read " Lindsay Ann Marie Hayes " the writing underneath " Beloved Daughter Mother and Wife ". A sudden gust of wind blew past the males dirty blond hair whipping to the side.
A small figure called out " Daddy! " the males head turned ever so slightly to see the child walk up to him, tears forming in his eyes, you could see the emotions swirling through them. The child stopped in front of the man tears rolling down his face he looked towards the stone and quietly asked " Will Mommy ever come back? " The male broke down into tears as she pulled the child into his arms he held the child closely responding. His voice scratchy and distorted. " No Dimitri, she's not coming back..."

I like how you build up the melancholy felling, it was a good read by the way.
