The Bloody Lady of Csejt

The Bloody Lady of Csejt

A Poem by LinBin
"

An amazing true story of a deplorable creature who continues to fascinate me to this day........

"

Bathing in the blood of virgins; all slaughtered for their innocence of youth;

She worshipped at the foot of Satan; but remained impassive and aloof

Young women & girls were her victims; all mutilated, tortured and defiled

Each one was an innocent maiden; whose very existence made her wild

She was born in Hungary in 1560; a Nobel woman who was anything but

Her pleasures in life were sadistic; she enjoyed the blood from deadly cut

She sliced their young skin with knives; & tore at their flesh with her teeth

Her lust for their blood overwhelmed her; her savagery was beyond belief

Though filthy rich & wanting for nothing; she craved that ‘something’ more;

Her riches did not remotely excite her; but what did, was her craving for gore;

She married very young; her husband was often away fighting in the war

Left alone to fester she turned into the creature we’ve grown to deplore

In 1604, she became a widow; & her lust for depravity just continued to grow

So many young girls robbed of a future; the true number we’ll never know

Rumours of nefarious activities spread; a priest called Istvan stepped in

He reported what he'd been hearing & in so doing, unveiled a mistress of sin

King Mathias was suspicious; he sent the palatine of Hungary to investigate;

Count Thurzo discovered her secrets; and in so doing, helped seal her fate

Countess Elizabeth Bathroy was born in splendour in 1560; she died in 1614

She left behind a trail of death; the worst serial killer Hungary has ever seen.
