AT LAST.....

I truly do believe in undying love....I guess this poem shows that..xxxx

I sit by your side as you lay sleeping

and I watch you slowly breath,

I wonder what you're dreaming of

and what your mind chooses to believe

I stroke your face so very gently

like a feather over stone,

I want to show you all my love

and tell you of the joys you've never known

I kiss your sweet lips one more time

you stir but do not wake,

I want to take away all your pain

for yours and for my sake

Your hair is as gray as a wandering cloud

lines etch your once smooth skin,

I smile with a vision of yesteryear

and watch our love begin

I'm holding your hand as your heart gives way

I'm there when you breath your last,

I'm with you when you awaken

and watch as your future becomes your past

Your hair is as blond as summer sand

your eyes are as blue as the sea

you step out from your dwelling place

and the first one you see is me

We hold each other tightly

the first time in forty years

we are two young lovers reunited

overcome with joyful tears

As we prepare to leave together

you glance at that lady by your side;

you whisper " goodbye old lady,

thank you so much for the ride"

We leave your body behind us

and we walk away hand in hand

at last you know what the truth is

at last my love, you understand.
