Its natural to withhold when we feel we arent being appreciated - sex is one of the major leverages that is with held in relationships when communication has down or is breaking down. Dams are useful - but only to create new energy for - not as threats to - the valleys below.
Sometimes I feel you write in a fashion that gives greatly but also holds back greatly.
Having said that - I enjoy your writing more than most on here Riv.

Dams hold back water, but if knowledge is dammed up life's processes slow to a crawl. Hatred can do the same thing. The one of whom you write has evidently pushed you past that point...leaving you to lament all contact. Whether to allow that person a second chance? It would soften the breaking point.
