Midnight

Midnight

A Poem by Riv

Sleep to midnight snow child.
Sleep until the cold sets in.
Your fingers are frozen,
your heart is still.
Underneath the starry sky,
maybe you will seek me.
However, I am not in mind.
Over those grassy hills,
where the wolves prey.
I sit underneath the peach tree.
Waiting,
for the snow to fall again.

Riv, This is a truly lovely and deep piece of writing, conveying so much emotion wrapped in solid imagery...sometimes the most vivid displays of emotion can be found in the shortest of writes. This is one of your best, Riv, and it's going to be saved in my library favorites. So thank you for THAT! take care...dan

Very nice use of places and thoughts. You create vision of coldness and the wish for the warm days. Thank you dear friend for sharing the excellent poetry.

We often have no control over when the focus to write will hit. Nothing to apologize for her. Nicely done.

This read like a Norse childrens rhyme - let me qualify that Abby. To me the Norse mythology and oral tradition is unsurpassed in its eloquence and imagery. I hope that makes it clear that I think your poem is class.
Yeah, why didnt I just say that....idk lol

Are You waiting for the wolves to hunt, snow child? Sitting there so still under the peach tree, are you armed and dangerous?
