Snow Days

Snow Days

A Poem by Riv

The snow brought it on.
Silver washed up on the shore.
Broken into little pieces.
Something even I couldn't notice.

Your eyes were already tainted.
Messing with my head.
I tried to fix what wasn't even broken.
Backfire on me like a whip.

Plunge a knife deep into my heart.
Take a step back from reality.
It passed me by suddenly.
How could I be so naive.

Talk about deceiving, I literally thought this was about Snow Days lol But that's whats so great about poetry and the messages and stories we put in it. A great job Riv!

Deceit is so easy, as you say...perhaps never moreso than when we deceive ourselves, because this is the type of deceit that is most difficult to detect. When deceived by others we hit that "Wait a minute....." moment when hit by the deception and think 'how could I have been so naïve?' while feeling really small. Self-deceit can last for great parts of a lifetime...a strong rebuke of our self-beliefs. Very nicely written! take care...dan

Yes... way to easy to deceive, I agree. And this poem clearly captures just that. Something clearly went wrong and now it sounds as if it might be too late. Or is it? A good write :)

It is
but i also believe we expect from another what we exercise withing ..........
So to that effect always believe in good energy facing deception with an honest heart changes everything around

Anything that starts with a reference to snow anymore and my antennae go up., and I go and put some thermals on.
Now, back to you poem.
Naivety, will sneak up on you because we think that we are immune to it because we are conditioned adults.
