How Do I Look?

How Do I Look?

A Poem by Riv
"

White blood

"
I miss looking at myself in the mirror.
When I could actually stand to see my face.
There was color in my eyes,
A bright future in front of me.

Now I can't help to avoid.
The damage that's been done,
By the world that's around me.
I can't look at myself anymore.

                                                                  There's scratches and burns,
Partly from my own doing.
Where I could swim to the shore,
I'm now drowning.

Where else do you have to go.
When you make yourself sick.
All you do is cry.
Now you don't even know how you feel.

Can I just take a moment to retry my life. Rewind that clock and make it all better. I could be of some use to my friends, to those I hold dear. Instead of this weak thing full of insecurities and hoping the next day I won't be around.

This piece is very well presented (I like the "first-line-sliding-over technique) and well written. Your writing seems to invoke some sort of urgency, and I really mean that as a good thing. The writing you've been doing lately has really raised the bar on quality of writes for you. And that's a REALLY good thing. Good job on this. take care...dan

Sometimes all these burns
create new mirrors to look at
the none traditional ones
You start to see yourself in a stroke of a brush
on curves of clay

You Are not alone as most people want to rewind and change something or do something different, but the reality is we cannot. Always look forward with a smile, nothing stays the same and you happiness is something that you can change. We are all different, each their own person.

When I think of my past I too have a hard time looking myself in the mirror. But then I remember that it's in the past and who I am now is a much greater person. Looking to the future is full of many possibilities. This is a great reflection piece, it speaks the mind :)

Loved the self-reflection. Its sad, but beautifully deep. Something Im sure we all face some day or another.

A truly excellent and emotional piece. Keep on reflecting, then directing your thoughts to a more positive and beautiful future. ;)

When you reach this level of pain and insecurity in you life, there are some medications to help. Good luck in life and a very well penned piece of pain and suffering in a life.
