Sometimes the trauma is just too great to the point where tears just won't cut it. If it's bad enough you won't cry, it's almost as if by not letting you cry to causes more pain. It is hard to describe as you said, but I do understand the feeling here. This poem captured it well :)
emotions are such annoying things, they don't always go where you expect, the heat and frustration of anger can produce tears as easily as rage, yet pain, emotional or physical don't always beget tears, when it comes to emotions its surely a crazy mixed up world but at least it gave you this excellent poem :)
I've had those moments myself. So much pain bottled up, but no way to express it, no tears trying to break the walls to fall on my face. It must be very frustrating and painful. I relate!
I think when we have stifled tears since childhood - we forget how. They sit like a dam though and may come when you dont want them to or may manifest in other ways. A talking therapist might get to the bottom of it, imho its definitely worth seeing a therapist.
Deeply honest and moving write Limno
You're right, describing pain is not easy, for it is more than just a single emotion. So much more is involved when it is felt. This piece of writing is very straight forward and it's hard to miss the message you are trying to deliver. I could tell you wrote it from the heart....
Limno, I am a prolific crier, so it is hard for me to identify with the feeling you describe. But I CAN feel empathy for the pain you experience. Hopefully you can find a suitable way of dealing with it. take care...dan
Limno: You did a wonderful job of describing the feeling and emotions, succinctly, lovely and sad; pulls at my heartstring, knowing the feeling, but unable to let go, staying composed, pushing those feeling down lower, repressed in such a hidden unconscious place, we may be afraid. It's a cathardic release, we all as humans need, and sometimes, those barriers are difficult to break, but with time, those as you wrote; loved the metaphor of "throne of white," purity? not certain, but the word throne, to me represents control. Thank you very much. I love your poems. Dale
